Congratulations to 2010 All-American Jacob Hyde, who placed 5th at 174lbs. Jake is Holly, MI native and a 2009 MHSAA
D1 champion.

March 1st, 2010
Congratulations to the Oakland University 2010 NCWA Nationals Qualifiers. The following wrestlers placed top 6 at
regionals to make it on to Nationals in Hamtpon, VA on March 10-12.

January 30th, 2010
On Day 2 of Team Nationals, Oakland drew a tough seed. In their first match of the morning the Grizzlies defeated Middle
Tennesee State University by a score of 56-3. Up next Oakland matched up with the 2009 NCWA National Champions,
the Apprentice School. The meet started out with a pin by Clint Grunalt at 125, but the Apprentice School swept through
the middle weights. Oakland fought back but it wasnt enough as they lost 26-21. Next up the Grizzlies defeated the
University of Dayton with a score of... In the Semi-Finals Oakland University met up with Grand Valley State University,
the 2009 Dual Team Champions. The Grizzlies got out to an early start with big wins at 125, 141, & 149. Oakland led the
dual all the way up until the last match, where GVSU took the dual with a 26-18 victory. In Oakland's last match of the
night they won 66-0, as Kenessaw State University forfeited due to injuries.

January 29th, 2010
Day one of Team Nationals is in the books! Oakland recieved a first round bye, and a second round match-up with Ohio
University. The Grizzlies rolled through Ohio U with a score of 43-2. Stay tuned for results of Day 2.

January 18th, 2010
The Grizzlies opened up against Bowling Green with a convincing win of 48 to 9. Getting pins for the team were; Jeremy
Fillipelli, Payden Armstrong, Mike Wranosky, Peter Waszkiewicz, Jake Hyde, & Garret Johnston. The next dual was
against a Saginaw Valley All-Star team, which included wrestlers from University of Toledo and Grand Valley. The
Oakland University Wrestling Team also had a very decisive victory in that dual as they went on to win 52-3. The Grizzlies
compete next at NCWA Team Nationals held in Tennessee. Here is a link to watch the OU vs BGSU dual meet.

January 11th, 2010
The Oakland University Wrestling Team won its duals against UofM and Mott Community College on 1/10/10. Oakland
had a close dual with returning team champions, Grand Valley State University, with a 21-29 final score. Going
undefeated on the weekend were freshman Luke Gillespie and Jacob Hyde. The Grizzlies compete next at the Mott CC

November 20th, 2009
The Oakland University Wrestling Team has kicked off the 2009-2010 season! The Grizzlies started competition on
November 7th at the Eastern Michigan Open. While competing amongst mostly NCAA D1 opponents the young Oakland
squad added up an impressive tally of wins. The Grizzlies had four wrestlers place; 165 Peter Waskiewicz -5th, 174 Jacob
Hyde- 5th.

The following weekend, November 14th & 15th, the Grizzlies traveled to the Muskegon Open on Saturday & the Michigan
State Open on Sunday. The lone wrestler to place at MCC was Jacob Hyde, who took 2nd place @ 184lbs.

On November 22nd, the Grizzlies competed at the Mott CC OPEN. Oakland University placed first as a team and
individual place winners included; 125 Clint Grunalt- 1st, 125 Eric Pollock- 2nd, 141 Jeremy Fillipelli- 4th, 149 Bo Cantera-
3rd, 149 Glenn Evans- 4th, 165 Mike Wranosky- 2nd, 165 Peter Waskiewicz- 3rd, 174 Jacob Hyde- 1st
